About the musician
David Coverdale is an English rock singer with a powerful blues-tinged voice and best known for his work with Whitesnake, a hard rock band he founded in 1978.
Before Whitesnake, Coverdale was the lead singer of Deep Purple from 1973 to 1976, after which he established his solo career. Looking for a new gig in 1973, Coverdale one day picked up the popular British music mag Melody Maker, and answered an ad for a group looking for a vocalist. Little did he know that the group in question was Deep Purple. In 2016, Coverdale was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Deep Purple.
"Here I Go Again" was written by lead singer David Coverdale, and former Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden. Originally released on their 1982 album, Saints & Sinners, the power ballad was re-recorded for their 1987 self-titled album and became an immense hit all over and continues to be one of the most successful Whitesnake songs ever.
